Boxing Day Run

Enjoy a post-Christmas run or walk through the local countryside!
Boxing Day Run

The Boxing Day Run organised by the Pirton Sports and Social Club in Pirton, Hitchin, is a long-standing community event held annually on December 26th. This tradition is a popular way for locals and visitors to gather after Christmas and enjoy some fresh air and exercise in the scenic countryside surrounding Pirton. Participants of all ages take part, and it's usually a fun, non-competitive event, emphasising community spirit and togetherness during the festive season.

The run often involves various distances to accommodate different fitness levels, with both shorter, family-friendly routes and more challenging options for seasoned runners. While it's traditionally a running event, some participants may choose to walk, making it inclusive for everyone.

Many people in the village and nearby areas look forward to this event as a way to burn off some of the indulgences of Christmas Day and to celebrate the holiday season in a spirited, social environment. Proceeds from the event often go towards supporting local initiatives, including maintaining and improving the facilities at the Pirton Sports and Social Club.
